Abstract: Extended abstract of paper presented at International Workshop on Late Cenozoic Paleoenvironment and Geology of the Arctic, held in Norway in April 1987. Concludes that Barents Sea was probably covered by grounded ice down to present-day 300 m contour. Possible coalescence of northern part of Barents Sea ice sheet with Fennoscandian ice sheet is still open to discussion.
