| Abstract: | Based on figures collected from 37 stations. 2290 birds counted, belonging to 9 species; Cape pigeon (Daption capensis) most numerous; snow petrel (Pagodroma nivea), Antarctic petrel (Thalassoica antarctica) and chinstrap penguin (Pygoscelis antarctica) considerably less numerous. Their presence is good indicator of availability of krill. |
