Record #88051:

Evaluation of MPB ice thickness measurement sensor / James R. Rossiter.

Title: Evaluation of MPB ice thickness measurement sensor / James R. Rossiter.
Author(s): Rossiter, James R.
Date: 1987.
Publisher: Montreal: Transportation Development Centre
Abstract: Presents results of evaluation of helicopter-borne sea-ice thickness sensor developed by MPB Technologies Inc., Dorval, PQ, Canada. Tests carried out in laboratory and field tests in Canadian Arctic. Included synthetic pulse radar operating at 30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 MHz. Although functional specifications of receiver noise figure of 6 dB in passbands of 5 MHz and transmit power of 100 W were met, this failed to operate in Arctic.
Keywords: 551.321.6 -- Ice thickness, measurement.
53.087.23 -- Remote sensing.
551.32 -- Glaciology.
