Record #88047:

Climatic change in eastern North America during the past 18,000 years: comparisons of pollen data with model results / Thompson Webb, III, Patrick J. Bartlein, John E. Kutzbach.

Title: Climatic change in eastern North America during the past 18,000 years: comparisons of pollen data with model results / Thompson Webb, III, Patrick J. Bartlein, John E. Kutzbach.
Author(s): Webb, Thompson,
Bartlein, Patrick J.
Kutzbach, John E.
Date: 1987.
Publisher: Boulder, CO: Geological Society of America
In: North America and adjacent oceans during the last deglaciation. (1987.),
Abstract: Published as part of the Decade of North American Geology (DNAG) Project. Compares deglaciation climatic parameters estimated from general circulation models with pollen data from south of ice sheet in central and eastern North America to evaluate reliability of these two approaches in reconstructing climate. Marked shift in inferred vegetational patterns between 10 and 12 ka is indication of waning influence of retreating ice sheet.
Notes:

In: North America and adjacent oceans during the last deglaciation / William F. Ruddiman, Herbert E. Wright, Jr, eds.

Keywords: 551.583.3 -- Climatic changes, Quaternary.
E9 -- Glaciology: meteorology and climatology.
(7) -- North America.
(*40) -- North American Arctic.
(*41) -- Canada.
