Record #88043:

Northern oceans / William F. Ruddiman.

Title: Northern oceans / William F. Ruddiman.
Author(s): Ruddiman, William F.
Date: 1987.
Publisher: Boulder, CO: Geological Society of America
In: North America and adjacent oceans during the last deglaciation. (1987.),
Abstract: Published as part of the Decade of North American Geology (DNAG) Project. Reviews climatic indicators (planktonic foraminifera and fossils and ice-rafted sand) from ocean surfaces lying adjacent to North America and responding to changes in ice-sheet size. Picture is one of ocean warming and productivity increases, broadly synchronous with ice-sheet retreat from 14 to 6 ka. In North Atlantic, rapid episodes of warming occurred at or near 13 and 10 ka, with major cooling at about 10.5 ka. Ice rafting slowed markedly after 13 ka.
Notes:
