Record #88038:

The Late Wisconsin glaciation and deglaciation of the Laurentide ice sheet / John T. Andrews.

Title: The Late Wisconsin glaciation and deglaciation of the Laurentide ice sheet / John T. Andrews.
Author(s): Andrews, John T.
Date: 1987.
Publisher: Boulder, CO: Geological Society of America
In: North America and adjacent oceans during the last deglaciation. (1987.),
Abstract: Published as part of the Decade of North American Geology (DNAG) Project. Deglaciation is examined through four topics that constrain area/volume relation and that indicate boundaries against which glaciologic, climatologic, and oceanographic reconstructions of late-glacial world must be tested: (1) evidence of glacial extent during Middle Wisconsin interstade, (2) data on timing and extent of last glacial maximum, (3) field evidence for ice-marginal profiles and, hence, thickness of ice sheet, (4) chronology, rates, and mechanisms of deglaciation.
Notes:

In: North America and adjacent oceans during the last deglaciation / William F. Ruddiman, Herbert E. Wright, Jr, eds.

Keywords: 551.336 -- Ice ages.
551.79 -- Quaternary.
E7 -- Glaciology: glacial geology and ice ages.
(7) -- North America.
(*40) -- North American Arctic.
(*41) -- Canada.
