Record #88019:

Processes and causes of lake acidification during spring snowmelt in the west-central Adirondack Mountains, New York / James N. Galloway, George R. Hendrey, Carl L. Schofield, Norman E. Peters, Arland H. Johannes.

Title: Processes and causes of lake acidification during spring snowmelt in the west-central Adirondack Mountains, New York / James N. Galloway, George R. Hendrey, Carl L. Schofield, Norman E. Peters, Arland H. Johannes.
Author(s): Galloway, James N.

Schofield, Carl L.
Peters, Norman E.
Johannes, Arland H.
Date: 1987.
In: Canadian Journal of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. (1987.), Vol. 44(9) (1987)
Abstract: Discusses why lakes lost alkalinity during snowmelt by assessing origins of acidifying agents. Also considers relative roles that H₂SO₄ and HNO₃ play in progress of acidification and impact of reductions in SO₂ atmospheric emissions on extent of snowmelt acidification.
