Ice impacts on semisubmersibles / K. Lindberg, L. Andersson.

Title: Ice impacts on semisubmersibles / K. Lindberg, L. Andersson.
Author(s): Lindberg, K.
Andersson, L.
Date: 1987.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the Sixth (1987) International Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering Symposium, presented at the Sixth (1987) International Symposium & Exhibit on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering, Houston, Texas, March 1-6, 1987. Vol. 4. (1987.),
Abstract: Type of impact depends on possibility of detecting ice feature, possibility of moving platform or ice, geometry of platform, state of sea, currents, frequency of ice occurrence, and properties of ice. With this data, scale and nature of impact may be calculated. Proposes practical method for this analysis and demonstrates how it is applied.
