Record #86907:

Seasonal variations of sea ice motion in the Canada Basin and their implications / Alfred S. McLaren, M.C. Serreze, Roger G. Barry.

Title: Seasonal variations of sea ice motion in the Canada Basin and their implications / Alfred S. McLaren, M.C. Serreze, Roger G. Barry.
Author(s): McLaren, Alfred S.
Serreze, M. C.
Barry, Roger G.
Date: 1987.
In: Geophysical Research Letters. (1987.), Vol. 14(11) (1987)
Abstract: Examined by means of ice velocities and sea-level pressure data from Arctic drifting buoys, 1979-85. Demonstrates recurring reversal of mean anticyclonic gyre in late summer, in response to changes in atmospheric forcing. Identification of reversal of ice motion is significant for numerical modelling of Arctic atmosphere-ice-ocean interactions.
