Three dimensional calculations for temperature gradient metamorphism in dry snow / Mark Christon, Pat Burns, Richard A. Sommerfeld.
Title: | Three dimensional calculations for temperature gradient metamorphism in dry snow / Mark Christon, Pat Burns, Richard A. Sommerfeld. |
Author(s): | Christon, Mark. Burns, Pat. Sommerfeld, Richard A. |
Date: | 1987. |
In: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1987.), Vol. 68(44) (1987) |
Abstract: | Abstract of paper to be presented at Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union. Deals with coupled, non-linear heat and mass transport that occurs in ice lattice of dry snow in presence of temperature gradient. Analysis demonstrates that ice-lattice geometry and interfacial thermodynamics are controlling factors in temperature gradient metamorphism. |
Notes: | Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. Vol. 68(44) :1271 (1987). |
Keywords: | 551.578.463 -- Snow cover, firnification. E10 -- Glaciology: snow and avalanches. |
