Record #86462:

Seasonal variations of sea ice motion in the Canada Basin and their implications / Alfred S. McLaren, Mark C. Serreze, Roger G. Barry.

Title: Seasonal variations of sea ice motion in the Canada Basin and their implications / Alfred S. McLaren, Mark C. Serreze, Roger G. Barry.
Author(s): McLaren, Alfred S.
Serreze, Mark C.
Barry, Roger G.
Date: 1987.
In: Eos : transactions, American Geophysical Union. (1987.), Vol. 68(44) (1987)
Abstract: Abstract of paper to be presented at Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union. Analysis of data revealed recurring tendency for reversal of mean clockwise Beaufort Gyre during late summer each year. This previously unidentified, recurrent reversal of ice motion was determined to be in response to seasonal change in atmospheric forcing when anticyclonic regime, which dominates area from October to early summer, is replaced by low-pressure systems.
