Abstract: Review, paying particular attention to hydrologic inputs to and outputs from wetlands, and influence of wetlands on peak flow regulation. Influence of permafrost, glaciers, snow, and seasonal stream icings on overall water balance and volume, areal distribution, rate, and timing of water release are discussed.
