Climatic variations in hydrometeorological processes in the Barents Sea and their biological consequences / V.K. Zilanov, G.I. Luka.
Title: | Climatic variations in hydrometeorological processes in the Barents Sea and their biological consequences / V.K. Zilanov, G.I. Luka. |
Author(s): | Zilanov, V. K. Luka, G. I. |
Date: | 1987. |
Publisher: | Bergen: Institute of Marine Research, Bergen |
In: | Effect of Oceanographic Conditions on Distribution and Population Dynamics of Commercial Fish Stocks in the Barents Sea : Proceedings of the Third Soviet-Norwegian Symposium, Murmansk, 26-28 May 1986. (1987.), |
Abstract: | Important in areas with extreme climatic conditions. Area under investigation lies at boundary of interacting warm Atlantic and cold Arctic waters. Climatic changes possibly result of variability of solar activity. Cold period, 1900-18; warm period, 1930-64; new cycle of falling temperatures commenced in mid-60s and greatly changed ratio of warm-water and cold-water species. Necessity of regulating human activity. |
Notes: | In: The Effect of Oceanographic Conditions on Distribution and Population Dynamics of Commercial Fish Stocks in the Barents Sea : Proceedings of the Third Soviet-Norwegian Symposium, Murmansk, 26-28 May 1986 / Harald Loeng, ed. |
