Record #85848:

Microscopic observation of the air hydrate-bubble. Transformation process in glacier ice / H. Shoji, Chester C. Langway, Jr.

Title: Microscopic observation of the air hydrate-bubble. Transformation process in glacier ice / H. Shoji, Chester C. Langway, Jr.
Author(s): Shoji, H.
Langway, Chester C.,
Date: 1987.
Abstract: Paper presented at 7th Symposium on Physics and Chemistry of Ice, held at Grenoble, France, in 1986. Observations on cores from Dye 3 and Camp Century, Greenland, and from Byrd station, Antarctica. Studies show phase-boundary energy to be much larger than grain-boundary energy.
Notes:

Offprint: Journal de Physique. Vol. 48(Colloque C1, supplément au no. 3) :551-556.

Keywords: 551.322 -- Ice and snow.
548.2 -- Ice, granular structure. Anisotropy.
551.32 -- Glaciology.
551.324 -- Land ice.
551.324.82 -- Bubbles in glaciers and ice.
