Record #85534:
Impulse radar sounding of fossil ice within the Kuranosuke perennial snow patch, central Japan / Katsuhiro Yamamoto, Minoru Yoshida.
Title: | Impulse radar sounding of fossil ice within the Kuranosuke perennial snow patch, central Japan / Katsuhiro Yamamoto, Minoru Yoshida. |
Author(s): | Yamamoto, Katsuhiro. Yoshida, Minoru. |
Date: | 1987. |
In: | Annals of Glaciology. (1987.), Vol. 9 (1987) |
Abstract: | Impulse radar used to survey internal structure of snow patch. Profiles revealed that thickness of ice was 30 m. Unconformity extended nearly parallel to surface at depth of 2 to 9 m, dividing ice into two parts. |
Notes: | Annals of Glaciology. Vol. 9 :218-220 (1987). Proceedings of the Second Symposium on Remote Sensing in Glaciology held at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom, 8-9 and 11-12 September 1986. |
Keywords: | 53.087.23 -- Remote sensing. 551.32 -- Glaciology. 551.321.61 -- Ice sounding, geophysical methods. 551.578.46 -- Snow cover and snow patches. 551.324.294 -- Glaciers, stagnant and dead ice. E5 -- Glaciology: land ice. (520) -- Japan. |
