Numerical methodology for multidimensional melting heat transfer problem involving natural convection / T. Saitoh, H. Kato.

Title: Numerical methodology for multidimensional melting heat transfer problem involving natural convection / T. Saitoh, H. Kato.
Author(s): Saitoh, T.
Kato, H.
Date: 1987.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the 1987 International Symposium on Cold Regions Heat Transfer presented at University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, June 4-6, 1987. (1987.),
Abstract: Presents numerical methodology applicable to general multidimensional melting or freezing problems with natural convection in liquid phase for arbitrary geometries including multiple connected domain. To illustrate, method is applied to heat transfer problem during melting of ice in square prism, which is characterized by effects of natural convection and density inversion on melting heat transfer. Method is simple and efficient.
