Record #84900:

Subglacial drainage for an ice sheet resting upon a layered deformable bed / E.M. Shoemaker, H.K.N. Leung.

Title: Subglacial drainage for an ice sheet resting upon a layered deformable bed / E.M. Shoemaker, H.K.N. Leung.
Author(s): Shoemaker, E. M.
Leung, H. K. N.
Date: 1987.
In: Journal of Geophysical Research. (1987.), Vol. 92(B6) (1987)
Abstract: Considers evacuation of basal meltwater by aquifer-channel-bed hydraulic system, especially as it affects aquifer pressurization, till deformation, and channel failure. Important result is that deformable substrates beneath temperate-based ice sheets may be unstable, particularly under conditions of diminishing profile.
