Abstract: Presents model and assesses diagnostically by studying sensitivity to changes in air temperature, solar radiation, surface winds, and snow cover. Results analyzed for internal consistency with observations. Model was applied to three Arctic locations and hourly integrations applied for total of 13 months to simulate annual cycle of first-year sea ice.
