Record #84701:

Biogenic and mineral inclusions in a green iceberg from the Weddell Sea, Antarctica / G. Dieckmann, C. Hemleben, M. Spindler.

Title: Biogenic and mineral inclusions in a green iceberg from the Weddell Sea, Antarctica / G. Dieckmann, C. Hemleben, M. Spindler.
Author(s): Dieckmann, G.
Hemleben, C.
Spindler, M.
Date: 1987.
In: Polar Biology. (1987.), Vol. 7(1) (1987)
Abstract: Sample of green-coloured iceberg examined; colour became translucent white on separation from main mass. Analyses and observations confirm that colour is not caused by pigmentation, green feldspars, or diatoms, but probably by reflection and/or absorption of light due to densely spaced, parallel layers of incorporated debris.
Notes:

Polar Biology. Vol. 7(1) :31-33 (1987).

Keywords: 551.32 -- Glaciology.
