Record #84685:
Snow accumulation on a narrow board / Daiji Kobayashi.
Title: | Snow accumulation on a narrow board / Daiji Kobayashi. |
Author(s): | Kobayashi, Daiji. |
Date: | 1987. |
In: | Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1987.), Vol. 13(3) (1987) |
Abstract: | Study of bouncing motion of snow flakes. Bouncing increases and cohesion decreases as temperature falls. Consequently, amount of snow accumulation reduces with decreasing width of board and temperature. Snow flakes will not accumulate on board when width is narrower than critical value. |
Notes: | Cold Regions Science and Technology. Vol. 13(3) :239-245 (1987). |
Keywords: | 551.578.41 -- Snow, structure, composition and temperature. 551.578.46 -- Snow cover and snow patches. E10 -- Glaciology: snow and avalanches. |
