| Abstract: | Extensive airborne radar soundings were made over part of west Antarctic ice sheet and Ross Ice Shelf, closely tied to ground stations at which accurate position fixes and surface elevations were obtained by Doppler-satellite tracking techniques. Delineation of boundaries of ice streams and their flow bands on ice shelf, mapping of surface elevation and determination of ice thicknesses have enabled several conclusions to be drawn. Erratum in ibid., Vol. 92, No. B9, 1987, p. 9451 gives corrected version of table 2a. |
