Record #84503:

Modelling the response of the West Antarctic ice sheet to a climatic warming / William F. Budd, Barry J. McInnes, D. Jenssen, Ian N. Smith.

Title: Modelling the response of the West Antarctic ice sheet to a climatic warming / William F. Budd, Barry J. McInnes, D. Jenssen, Ian N. Smith.
Author(s): Budd, William F.
McInnes, Barry J.
Jenssen, D.
Smith, Ian N.
Date: 1987.
Publisher: Dordrecht: D. Reidel Publishing Co.
In: Dynamics of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet : proceedings of a Workshop held in Utrecht, May 6-8, 1985. (1987.),
Abstract: Describes hierarchy of ice-sheet modelling studies covering fast-flowing ice streams, thermal regime of west Antarctic ice sheet, and whole Antarctic at coarser resolution. Range of consequences likely for ice loss and sea-level rise due to climatic warming are computed in detail for next 500 a, and in less detail for several thousand years hence. Concludes that effects for sea-level change could be large but of manageable magnitude and rate of change.
