| Abstract: | Uses available thickness and velocity data to estimate distribution of restraining forces along two flowlines on Ronne Ice Shelf. By assuming restraint comes from shear along boundaries, shear-stress gradient can be derived, which is related to transverse velocity profiles. Discusses further implications including effect of iceberg calving. |
