Title: Design of Norman Wells pipeline for frost heave and thaw settlement / J.F. Nixon, A.R. Pick.
Author(s): Nixon, J. F.
Pick, A. R.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: Ottawa: National Research Council Canada. Associate Committee on Geotechnical Research
In: National Research Council of Canada. Associate Committee on Geotechnical Research. Technical Memorandum. (1986.), Vol. 139 (1986)
Abstract: Construction of buried pipeline 866 km long and 323.9 mm diameter to northern Alberta. Considers calculations for defining wall thickness of pipe required to conform to design criteria for critical loading combinations. Cases studied included thaw settlement, frost heave, and bend analyses with inclusion of seismic induced loadings.
