Record #83249:
Changes in precipitation chemistry at Dye 3, Greenland / R.C. Finkel, Chester C. Langway, Jr, Henrik B. Clausen.
Title: | Changes in precipitation chemistry at Dye 3, Greenland / R.C. Finkel, Chester C. Langway, Jr, Henrik B. Clausen. |
Author(s): | Finkel, R. C. Langway, Chester C., Clausen, Henrik B. |
Date: | 1986. |
In: | Journal of Geophysical Research. (1986.), Vol. 91(D9) (1986) |
Abstract: | Measurements of chemical composition of ice-core samples from this site show recent increases in concentration of nitrate and sulphate which can be attributed to anthropogenic sources. These sources have changed not only magnitude of impurity levels in Greenland snow but also seasonal pattern. Observed change in pattern of seasonal deposition between pre-industrial and industrial times is used to analyze sources of natural and anthropogenic impurities in Greenland. |
