Record #82929:

Enhancement of NOAA AVHRR digital data for sea ice analysis in an operational environment / Bruce R. Ramsay, Michael A.J. Zieger.

Title: Enhancement of NOAA AVHRR digital data for sea ice analysis in an operational environment / Bruce R. Ramsay, Michael A.J. Zieger.
Author(s): Ramsay, Bruce R.
Zieger, Michael A. J.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia: Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Atlantic Oceanographic Laboratory
In: Proceedings of the Canadian East Coast Workshop on Sea Ice, January 7-9, 1986. (1986.),
Abstract: Techniques investigated for enhancing satellite data included contrast stretching, false colour composition, interchannel arithmetic operations, principal components transformation, and sinusoidal squeeze algorithm. All provided favourable enhancements of features such as ice edges, ice-pack structure, ice/cloud discrimination, and colour separation of ice types.
Notes:

In: Proceedings of the Canadian East Coast Workshop on Sea Ice, January 7-9, 1986 / G. Symonds, I.K. Peterson, comps.

Keywords: 551.326.021 -- Floating ice, satellite sensing.
