Field observations of flow patterns generated by an ice keel in stratified flow / D.R. Topham, H.D. Pite, P. Johnston, D.L. Richards.

Title: Field observations of flow patterns generated by an ice keel in stratified flow / D.R. Topham, H.D. Pite, P. Johnston, D.L. Richards.
Author(s): Topham, D. R.
Pite, H. D.
Johnston, P.
Richards, D. L.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: Dartmouth, Nova Scotia: Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Atlantic Oceanographic Laboratory
In: Proceedings of the Canadian East Coast Workshop on Sea Ice, January 7-9, 1986. (1986.),
Abstract: Presents results of investigation of flow patterns generated by isolated, approximately two-dimensional ice keel in weakly stratified flow. Observed by array of eight multiplexed depth-sounder transducers, which provided flow visualization of local turbulence patterns generated by keel. Lee waves, suppression of separation by lee waves and internal hydraulic jumps are identified for range of flow conditions.
Notes:
