Numerical model for calculating spatial distribution and mean frequency of iceberg grounding events / S.J. d'Apollonia, C.F.M. Lewis.
Title: | Numerical model for calculating spatial distribution and mean frequency of iceberg grounding events / S.J. d'Apollonia, C.F.M. Lewis. |
Author(s): | d'Apollonia, S. J. Lewis, C. F. M. |
Date: | 1986. |
Publisher: | Ottawa: Environmental Studies Revolving Funds |
In: | Environmental Studies Revolving Funds Report. (1986.), Vol. 049 (1986) |
Abstract: | In order to test thesis that observed pattern of iceberg scours can be accounted for by historical average southward flux of icebergs to Grand Banks of Newfoundland from Greenland and Arctic Canada, model is presented based on information on long-term mean iceberg flux, iceberg draught distribution, and interaction of these parameters with local bathymetry. |
