Record #82145:

The surface heat and mass balance / Gary A. Maykut.

Title: The surface heat and mass balance / Gary A. Maykut.
Author(s): Maykut, Gary A.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: New York: Plenum Press
In: Geophysics of sea ice. (1986.),
Abstract: First reviews various components of surface heat balance and examines relative magnitude of heat fluxes observed over Arctic ice pack. Then describes growth patterns and mass balance of sea-ice cover, considers different methods of predicting ice growth, and examines sensitivity of sea ice to changes in climate. Finally, discusses coupling between dynamic and thermodynamic processes and estimates how variations in thickness affects regional heat exchange and ice production.
Notes:

In: The geophysics of sea ice / Norbert Untersteiner, ed.

Keywords: 551.326.2 -- Floating ice, formation and decay.
551.32 -- Glaciology.
