Record #82088:

Iceberg impact load on a gravity based structure / Dat Duthinh, Stephen Marsden.

Title: Iceberg impact load on a gravity based structure / Dat Duthinh, Stephen Marsden.
Author(s): Duthinh, Dat.
Marsden, Stephen.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Civil Engineers
In: Cold Regions Engineering. Proceedings of the Fourth International Conference..., Anchorage, Alaska, February 24-26, 1986. (1986.),
Abstract: Discusses mechanics of eccentric collision of iceberg against fixed, rigid, gravity-based structure. Closed-form solution is derived for case of infinite friction between iceberg and structure, and more general, time-stepping computer method is also presented. Results show effect of friction, eccentricity and berg orientation on impact load. Implications for design are presented.
