Record #81867:

Interaction of waves with ice floes / Nobuhisa Kobayashi, Susan Frankenstein.

Title: Interaction of waves with ice floes / Nobuhisa Kobayashi, Susan Frankenstein.
Author(s): Kobayashi, Nobuhisa.
Frankenstein, Susan.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: Iowa City, IA: University of Iowa, Institute of Hydraulic Research
In: 8th International Symposium on Ice, Iowa City, August 18-22, 1986. (1986.), Vol. 1.
Abstract: Motion of vertical axisymmetric ice floe or iceberg due to action of incident linear waves is computed using potential flow theory and is compared with available small-scale model tests. Comparison indicates that agreement is only qualitative; reasons for this are discussed, and wave drift force on vertical asymmetric ice mass is examined briefly.
Notes:

In: 8th International Symposium on Ice, Iowa City, August 18-22, 1986. Vol. 1. / International Association For Hydraulic Research.

Keywords: 551.466 -- Waves and tides, marine.
551.326 -- Floating ice.
E6 -- Glaciology: floating ice.
