Record #81578:

Variations of the local failure pressure with depth through first year and multi-year ice / D. Blanchet.

Title: Variations of the local failure pressure with depth through first year and multi-year ice / D. Blanchet.
Author(s): Blanchet, D.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the Fifth International Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering (OMAE) Symposium, presented ... Tokyo, Japan, April 13-18, 1986. Vol. 4. (1986.),
Abstract: Presents typical vertical distributions of failure pressure in floating ice cover; these are function of parameters such as salinity, temperature, type of ice, location of ice-pressure area through ice thickness, thickness itself, density, and crack and flaw distributions. Two combinations of these parameters lead to "representative" summer and winter vertical ice-pressure profiles for 8 and 2 m thick ice floes.
