Creep movement of rigid particles embedded in ice / L. Domaschuk, D.H. Shields, M.G. Rahman.

Title: Creep movement of rigid particles embedded in ice / L. Domaschuk, D.H. Shields, M.G. Rahman.
Author(s): Domaschuk, L.
Shields, D. H.
Rahman, M. G.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: New York: American Society of Mechanical Engineers
In: Proceedings of the Fifth International Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering (OMAE) Symposium, presented ... Tokyo, Japan, April 13-18, 1986. Vol. 4. (1986.),
Abstract: Study of soil particle-ice interaction relevant to creep behaviour of frozen soils. Small steel balls, representing soil particles, were embedded in polycrystalline ice to depth equal to half their diameter. With ice at constant temperature, spheres were subjected to range of vertical forces and movement monitored with time. Results discussed.
