Record #81221:

On the special rheological properties of ancient microparticle-laden northern hemisphere ice as derived from bore-hole and core measurements / David A. Fisher, Roy M. Koerner.

Title: On the special rheological properties of ancient microparticle-laden northern hemisphere ice as derived from bore-hole and core measurements / David A. Fisher, Roy M. Koerner.
Author(s): Fisher, David A.
Koerner, Roy M.
Date: 1986.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1986.), Vol. 32(112) (1986)
Abstract: Ice of this description is "softer" than modern or Holocene ice and deforms more readily in borehole tilt and closure measurements. Summarizes seven years of measurements of borehole closure and four inclination surveys in 338 m hole drilled in Agassiz Ice Cap, Ellesmere Island, in order to compare flow enhancement to other measured quantities: δ(¹⁸O), dust, crystal size, density, conductivity, Na, Ca, and c-axis orientation.
