Record #81209:

Three-dimensional coordination number from two-dimensional measurements: a new method / Richard B. Alley.

Title: Three-dimensional coordination number from two-dimensional measurements: a new method / Richard B. Alley.
Author(s): Alley, Richard B.
Date: 1986.
In: Journal of Glaciology. (1986.), Vol. 32(112) (1986)
Abstract: Value of average three-dimensional coordination number, which is important measure of firn structure, can be estimated from average measured two-dimensional coordination number and from function that depends only on ratio of average bond radius to grain radius in sample. Method is easy to apply and does not require use of unknown shape factors or tunable parameters.
