Record #80896:

The controlling factors of ice-created seabed features related to production systems in Canadian cold oceans / J.I. Clark, J. Landva.

Title: The controlling factors of ice-created seabed features related to production systems in Canadian cold oceans / J.I. Clark, J. Landva.
Author(s): Clark, J. I.
Landva, J.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: Espoo: Technical Research Centre of Finland
In: Polartech '86 : International Offshore and Navigation Conference and Exhibition. Helsinki, Finland, 27-30 October 1986. (1986.), Vol. 2.
Abstract: Extensive studies of seabed scours have been carried out so they can be adequately accounted for in design of oil and gas production facilities. Suggests scours are caused by iceberg keel, or by rolling, or by splitting and subsequent grounding of iceberg; these mechanisms depend on seasonal conditions. Probable that ice strength relative to soil strength is most important factor in determining nature of seabed features.
