Record #80287:

Multi-basin avalanche simulation: a model / Arthur Judson, Rudy M. King, Glen E. Brink.

Title: Multi-basin avalanche simulation: a model / Arthur Judson, Rudy M. King, Glen E. Brink.
Author(s): Judson, Arthur.
King, Rudy M.
Brink, Glen E.
Date: 1986.
In: Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1986.), Vol. 13(1) (1986)
Abstract: Process-oriented prediction model for wide-area (200 km²) use developed and tested, using data from five winters at Berthoud Pass, Colorado. Model driven by temperature, precipitation, wind and radiation; it simulates snow transport and deposition in starting zones and development of layered snow cover in sheltered clearings. Probabilities of avalanche occurrence estimated according to recent loading and simulated regional snowpack stratigraphy.
Notes:

Cold Regions Science and Technology. Vol. 13(1) :35-47 (1986).

Keywords: 551.578.483 -- Avalanches, forecasting.
E10 -- Glaciology: snow and avalanches.
