| Abstract: | Technique of matched filtering used, which locates maxima of two-dimensional cross correlations to extract displacement vectors representing local ice motion occurring between successive AVHRR satellite images of eastern Beaufort Sea. Resulting velocities agree well with estimates of ice movement obtained by manual measurement of invariant ice-feature displacements. |
