Record #80125:

On estimating ice stress from MIZEX 83 ice deformation and current measurements / M. Lepparanta, William D. Hibler, III, O. Johannessen.

Title: On estimating ice stress from MIZEX 83 ice deformation and current measurements / M. Lepparanta, William D. Hibler, III, O. Johannessen.
Author(s): Lepparanta, M.
Hibler, William D.,
Johannessen, O.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: Hanover, NH: US Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory
In: CRREL Special Report. (1986.), Vol. 86-3 (1986)
Abstract: Presents estimates which give idea of plastic stresses that can be expected in marginal ice zone. Comparisons indicate that ice deformation provides more sensitive test between ice drift theories than ice trajectories.
Notes:

CRREL Special Report. Vol. 86-3 :17-19 (1986).

Also in MIZEX Bulletin 7.

Keywords: 551.32 -- Glaciology.
551.326 -- Floating ice.
539.42 -- Ice, tensile strength.
551.326.7 -- Sea ice.
E6 -- Glaciology: floating ice.
