Record #79161:

Snow cover in real time climate monitoring / Chester F. Ropelewski.

Title: Snow cover in real time climate monitoring / Chester F. Ropelewski.
Author(s): Ropelewski, Chester F.
Date: 1986.
Publisher: Boulder, CO: University of Colorado, Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences, World Data Center A for Glaciology
In: Glaciological Data. (1986.), Report GD-18 (1986)
Abstract: Paper presented at workshop, Snow Watch '85, on snow cover and its role in climate system, specifically as related to potential effects of CO₂-induced climatic changes, held October 1985 at University of Maryland. Using data from surface stations and satellites, programme has been developed to monitor snow-cover extent in real time; results used qualitatively as aids to interpretation and diagnosis of anomalies in monthly temperature, precipitation and circulation features.
