| Abstract: | Method based on microwave spectral properties of sea ice and ice-free ocean. Uses ratios of polarized radiances at 37 and 18 GHz wavelengths. Presents examples of use of method, which, although developed for Nimbus 7 scanning multichannel microwave radiometer data, is applicable to data from other microwave radiometers operating in similar wavelength range. |
