Abstract: Method involving submersion of ice. Device incorporated rotating porous drum with paddles; this submerged ice and allowed buoyant oil to flow up and into porous drum. Recovery efficiencies averaged 40 to 66% for crude oil and 13 to 64% for viscous fuel oils.
