Record #78875:

The effect of the marginal ice zone on the directional wave spectrum of the ocean / Peter Wadhams, Vernon A. Squire, J.A. Ewing, R.W. Pascal.

Title: The effect of the marginal ice zone on the directional wave spectrum of the ocean / Peter Wadhams, Vernon A. Squire, J.A. Ewing, R.W. Pascal.
Author(s): Wadhams, Peter.
Squire, Vernon A.
Ewing, J. A.
Pascal, R. W.
Date: 1986.
In: Journal of Physical Oceanography. (1986.), Vol. 16(2) (1986)
Abstract: Presents results of experiments carried out in northern Greenland Sea during July 1984. First measurements of directional behaviour of wave fields near ice margins. Offers explanation of observed effects in terms of scattering theory, which also gives good fit to observed rates of attenuation within ice.
Notes:

Journal of Physical Oceanography. Vol. 16(2) :358-376 (1986).

Keywords: 551.466 -- Waves and tides, marine.
551.326 -- Floating ice.
