Record #78803:

Estimated basal ice temperatures at Crête, Greenland, throughout a glacial cycle / William Stanley B. Paterson, E.D. Waddington.

Title: Estimated basal ice temperatures at Crête, Greenland, throughout a glacial cycle / William Stanley B. Paterson, E.D. Waddington.
Author(s): Paterson, William Stanley B.
Waddington, E. D.
Date: 1986.
In: Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1986.), Vol. 12(1) (1986)
Abstract: Modeling basal ice temperatures in central Greenland shows they may be higher during glaciation than during interglacial. "Hot spot" exists under ice divide. Climatic record from proposed bore hole on divide will cover several glacial cycles only of basal temperature never reaches melting point; i.e. if geothermal heat flux is <=48 mW m⁻².
