Record #78797:

Refreezing of cracks formed by bending of floating ice sheets / F.T. Christensen.

Title: Refreezing of cracks formed by bending of floating ice sheets / F.T. Christensen.
Author(s): Christensen, F. T.
Date: 1986.
In: Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1986.), Vol. 12(1) (1986)
Abstract: Redevelopment of flexural strength due to refreezing was measured. Empirical formula suggested for predicting flexural strength of partially refrozen cracks at any time after cracking. Based on opening angle of crack and parameter that is product of dimensionless time and temperature.
Notes:

Cold Regions Science and Technology. Vol. 12(1) :29-37 (1986).

Keywords: 551.326.2 -- Floating ice, formation and decay.
551.32 -- Glaciology.
551.326 -- Floating ice.
539.3 -- Ice, mechanical properties.
