Record #78796:

Confined compression tests outlining the failure envelope of columnar sea ice / G.W. Timco, Robert M.W. Frederking.

Title: Confined compression tests outlining the failure envelope of columnar sea ice / G.W. Timco, Robert M.W. Frederking.
Author(s): Timco, G. W.
Frederking, Robert M. W.
Date: 1986.
In: Cold Regions Science and Technology. (1986.), Vol. 12(1) (1986)
Abstract: Describes series of tests carried out over range of nominal strain rates of 10⁻⁵ to 10⁻³ s⁻¹ at -2°C. Results discussed in terms of loading rate effects, temperature, brine volume and air porosity. Results used to outline 3-dimensional failure envelope for warm columnar sea ice and corresponding envelope at -10°C is inferred.
Notes:

Cold Regions Science and Technology. Vol. 12(1) :13-28 (1986).
