Record #78790:

Satellite remote sensing over ice / Robert H. Thomas.

Title: Satellite remote sensing over ice / Robert H. Thomas.
Author(s): Thomas, Robert H.
Date: 1986.
In: Journal of Geophysical Research. (1986.), Vol. 91(C2) (1986)
Abstract: Reviews techniques for satellite observations of land- and sea-ice cover . Describes how coastline of Antarctica can be mapped using altimetry data, and size and spatial distribution of icebergs can be monitored. Altimetry data can also distinguish open ocean from pack ice and give indication of sea-ice characteristics.
