Record #78774:

The Jakobshanvs [sic] effect / Terence J. Hughes.

Title: The Jakobshanvs [sic] effect / Terence J. Hughes.
Author(s): Hughes, Terence J.
Date: 1986.
In: Geophysical Research Letters. (1986.), Vol. 13(1) (1986)
Abstract: Describes group of positive feedback mechanisms which allow Jakobshavns Isbrae to "pull" ice out of Greenland ice sheet at rate >=7 km a⁻¹ across floating terminus 800 m thick and 6 km wide. May have been significant in hastening collapse of palaeo ice sheets with advent of climate warming at 18 ka BP and may precipitate collapse of present polar ice sheets following CO₂-induced warming.
Notes:

Geophysical Research Letters. Vol. 13(1) :46-48 (1986).
