Abstract: | Discusses space-time structure of principal meteorological elements in boundary layer of atmosphere, on basis of long-term data from aerological sounding at Mirnyy and Vostok stations 1973-77. Establishes distinguishing features of vertical distribution of temperature, air humidity and wind velocity. Quantitative estimates of their variability are obtained. Gives characteristics of thickness and turbulence of boundary layer. Estimates role of down-slope wind and of radiational and circulational factors in formation of thermal and dynamic state of boundary layer. Suggests direction of future studies. Translation in Problems of the Arctic and the Antarctic, 1989, Vol.60, p.63-79. |
