Thermal conditions for ice lens formation in soil freezing / Kazuo Takeda, Juichi Nakazawa, Seiiti Kinosita.
Title: | Thermal conditions for ice lens formation in soil freezing / Kazuo Takeda, Juichi Nakazawa, Seiiti Kinosita. |
Author(s): | Takeda, Kazuo. Nakazawa, Juichi. Kinosita, Seiiti. |
Date: | 1985. |
Publisher: | Sapporo: Hokkaido University Press |
In: | Proceedings of the Fourth International Symposium on Ground Freezing/Sapporo/5-7 August 1985. Ground freezing. Volume two. (1985.), |
Abstract: | Maximum heave rate during formation of soil-free ice lens was determined through series of laboratory freezing tests. Heave rate (and rate of ice-lens growth) was proportional to temperature gradient across frozen soil. |
Notes: | In: Proceedings of the Fourth International Symposium on Ground Freezing/Sapporo/5-7 August 1985. Ground freezing. Volume two / Seiiti Kinosita, Masami Fukuda, eds. |
Keywords: | 551.345 -- Permafrost. Cryopedology. 536.421.4 -- Freezing. 551.345.2 -- Permafrost, formation and decay. 551.345.3 -- Permafrost, composition and structure. Ice wedges. |
